Listening to Soulfly live at Dynamo Open Air 1998 vinyl. Sounds a little raw. Crazy that this was 27 years ago.

Listening to At The Gates - To Drink From The Night Itself. This is definitely up there as one of my favourite albums. Brutal throughout.

Watching Iron Maiden - Flight 666 It's a fun, honest tour documentary as the band breaks another tour barrier and fly themselves around the world as they globe trot to places most bands never visit on tour.

Its #NCBD and Issue #1 Volume 4 of Creepshow is out. I managed to get hold of the A cover, I like the Creepshow red header, but I couldn't find the amazing C cover available. #comics #horrorcomics #horror #Creepshow

Bit of a mixed bag today of albums I've been listening to. Some great 90s albums alongside a "new" album that's more than 10 years old. Soulfly - Primitive Paradise Lost - Icon Bio Cancer - Ear Piercing Thrash Pantera - Far Beyond Driven

Managed to pick up these two live bootleg LPs for a great price from an eBay record store. Not only did I get them for a great price, but the seller threw in a free CD as well. I think the Metallica one is from when Jason had just joined the band as it's recorded in 1986.

Nice little CD haul at the 2nd hand store today. Machine Head Burn My Eyes and Hellalive, Slayer Undisputed Attitude and Mastodon Blood Mountain. Should keep me busy for a while.

Why is music so highly priced that it makes physical media/concerts inaccessible to a lot of people? This then drives the use of digital more. When I was a teen at the start of the 90s CDs were just hitting the market. An album on CD was £12 or £7 on vinyl, second hand LPs were £3.

Continuing the Cavalera journey today and listening to Nailbomb - Point Blank. I can remember when this came out when I was in college and how heavy it sounded at the time. I remember finding a Nailbomb 7" in the local 2nd hand record store, but it was for a British band of the same name.

Bought the 1st Soulfly album on CD. Got sent the Special Edition version in the printed black jewellery case, with bonus tracks.

Picked up Issue #20 of Fistful of Metal featuring Slayer, Paradise Lost, Alice Cooper, Bruce Dickinson, Obituary, Megadeth and a lot more. Love the stressed style cover and old fashioned Woolworths price sticker. Huge article on the 40 year history of Slayer.

It was phenomenal seeing this live at tonight’s Phillies game.

Listening to Cavalera Conspiracy- Schizophrenia whilst I do some work this morning.

Listening to the new release from hometown Death metallers Vulgar Dissection - Liquifying Coagulated Viscera. This is heavy, pounding and very brutal. Released through Macho Records on tape, CD and pre order vinyl as well as all the usual streaming sites.

Watched The Wicker Man as it's been a while. Christopher Lee at his wacky and most terrifying as Lord Summerisle. Every time I watch this film Edward Woodward does come across as more the antagonist walking round telling everyone their beliefs are wrong and slamming their traditions.

Listened to Unburier - Nebulous EP. Amazing UK Death Metal band. Definitely worth checking out.

Listened to Burn The Priest - Legion: XX. A great cover album of punk/hardcore tracks from Lamb of God under their original name.

I didn't get a ticket for the big Black Sabbath/Ozzy show this weekend. They just released the stage times and each band gets 15 mins on average. Ozzy doing 20 mins, Sabbath 35 mins. Metallica and Slayer have longer slots than Ozzy. Cheapest ticket was £375. Could go to Download for less.

Started the day with Sepultura - Beneath The Remains. They were hitting their stride with their second album and it hints what was to come with Arise.

Listened to Exodus - Bonded By Blood. A great mid 80s thrash album. A great accompaniment to walk home today, pounds all the way through.

NO SPOILERS Watched Squid Games Season 3 (actually on release date not 3 years later). Completely amazing. The complete brutality and unfairness of previous seasons, the ending of the game was atmospheric and perfect. The futility of thinking the rich can do the right thing.

Listening to Behemoth - XXX Years ov Blasphemy. Brutal.

Watched Heavy Trip. Billed as a Finnish Death Metal version of Spinal Tap, how could I not. Was quite funny throughout and the soundtrack was worth listening to as well.

Just watched Murder in the Front Row; The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story. A great documentary on the whole scene back in the 80s and the birth of a lot of today's heavy metal megastars. Don't wear a RATT t shirt.

Listened to Municipal Waste - Waste Em All. 15 tracks in 15 minutes. The music on this album sounds a lot more like the metallic hard-core punk bands of the late 90s than thrash. Still brilliant.

Listened to Vulgar Dissection- Buried and Forgotten album. Brutal Death Metal band from my hometown. Some great power riffs, growling vocals and pounding rythmn section.

Listened to Anthrax Anthrology - No Hit Wonders as I was out walking today. Still can't make my mind up about Anthrax. Their songs have always been a bit marmite for me. A few decent tracks and a few I skipped.

Just got Lamb of God Live in Richmond, VA on vinyl for £10 brand new still sealed.

Currently reading Memoir of a Roadie by Joel Miller. It's a very funny, honest story of growing up in a world outside the real world. I'm the same age as the writer, so I actually know the musicians he's talking about. Well worth a read as it isn't all drugs and name dropping like some other memoirs

Finally finished my run of listening to the Lamb of God albums in reverse release order (no idea why I went new to old) with New American Gospel. One of the few bands with this amount of albums who have continuous solid output. That's LOG, Iron Maiden and Slayer done. Kreator or Paradise Lost next.
