went to the bird sanctuary and saw my first ever belted kingfisher! along with about a thousand waterfowl!

The bookshelf is built!! 🔨 Now to sand, stain, and figure out where everything belongs ✨

Started working on a new novel today and while my brain is soupy from a migraine, I’m already so excited with how it’s turning out ✨

This is the current bookshelf situation! There were built in bookshelves along the stairs before (at the blue wall in the first photo) but they were pressboard and only reached the bottom of the stairs. New one will go all the way to the door! And it’s starting tomorrow!!

I’ve been talking about learning to knit socks for years and have never done so, but I figured if I bought the yarn I’d do it sooner rather than later. Also, if you have tips for using double pointed needles, please share them 🧶 I’m going in blind here folks

We're also having a (new & improved) built in bookshelf put in along our stairs on Tuesday (!!) so I've been repainting the walls/organizing books/all that. It's been busy around here!

A little harvest/life update: I still need to pickle more peppers, and did not touch the cabbage, because I ended up organizing some new bookshelves last night. But they look great (pictures to come soon).

My grandma gave me a few cabbages too so I think I’ll pickle those as well. I’ve never pickled cabbage but I think it’ll turn out ok ✨

Just finished the third (and final?) round of edits on my novel and am going to buy some fall candles in celebration. And since summer seems to want to stick around, some ice cream may be involved too🍦
