Guantánamo 2.0 At 3 a.m., Kazakh agents took Sabri al-Qurashi and Mohammed Algubrai. By dawn, they were gone—deported, stateless, alone. Sabri lived in Kazakhstan since 2014. Promised freedom from Guantánamo, he got another prison: no ID, no work, no family, constant surveillance, beatings.

Alligator Alcatraz may or may not close by October. There appears to be serious unrest and repression happening there or recently occurring. Guantánamo Bay survivor Mansoor Adayfi has a message for those locked inside: “Fight. They only understand force.”
