Another openly queer person who worked on Sakura Wars is none other than series creator Oji Hiroi. He opened up in his 90s radio program "Hiroi Oji no Multi-Tengoku" as well as a recent 2017 interview about liking and having dated boys in the past.

That's Yuji Mitsuya btw, an openly gay voice actor. He voiced Masque de Corbeau and Philipe in ST3, played villain Dr Darkness in Shin Ai Yueni and play director Edogawa-sensei in the stage shows and had a movie cameo.
