Today I made a huge batch of hummous and applied for one job. Where did the hours even go? Fingers crossed I'll manage to get some portfolio work done tomorrow.

Just, with some hesitance, watched The Substance on my library streaming service and had a wild rollercoaster from "ugh make it stop" to "hm i get it cool" to "yeah yeah we know" to "omg this is absolutely fn brilliant". Have to digest this a bit. For sure want to watch her other films now though!

Btw if anyone has suggestions of smutty but classy games send them my way. I started Lust for Darkness but it was sooo boring. Guess I'll finish it some time but only because I bought the sequel as well... Felt like very typical er0tica by men: all smooth graphics but no juicy vibe whatsoever.

It's a green flag 🥲

Finally cancelled my Spotify subscription. It started out as a good service but it's gradually just become worse, the product as well as ethically. When I have salary again I'd rather spend my 11EUR/month buying music directly from a band.

I'd love to see a social media app where I could categorize my connections and customize the feeds accordingly. It's fun to see what my musician friend's bands are up to but it's sad when it drowns out life updates from friends and family. Please steal this idea.

Another new year's resolution is to get a better display for Karlach ❤. "The Barbarian" by @sandraelderberry.bsky.social . I so much recommend buying from Sandra if you want to get some original art or prints. Such care for her work and her customers ❣️

My newyear's resolution is finally finishing Hellblade and the other haul of games I bought like three years ago instead of starting another run of Rimworld or BG3. (Where did time even go?)

Very interesting breakdown of streaming service problems. The guy concludes that services like Patreon is a much better way for artists to make a living, which i totally agree with. BUT, there is another way of supporting the artists you like. You can just, like, BUY their albums and stuff.

Still haven't let go of the elephant scene. Using interactivity to envoke emotions is what makes games unique but this is def not explored to it's potential. I love pushing the envelope when it comes to discomfort in art, for me the elephant scene in It Takes Two was one of the most unexpectedly gruesome and brilliant things I've seen in a game. Hazelight's CEO used to write and direct films, gonna be interesting to see how the narrative develops :)

My application for the XR Lab programme at Gothenburg Visual Arena was approved! Another free time thing that doesn't bring any money in, but it's gonna be fun to dive into some proper spatial audio! I've been really needing some good news. 🥲
