Boardgame bluesky is for having like 1k followers and only interacting with 5 people.

Ya know people complain about how expensive boardgame tables are but I just spent $2500 on a new table and chairs for my new place. That's not a far cry from the lux gaming tables I've seen. So I guess I'll just play games on that because I won't be buying another table.

The biggest downside to my move is that I use the Upside app to earn some bonus cash when I purchase gas, (I've earned $150+ over the last year or so) But the local gas station by the new place isn't part of it. So I won't be able to get as much extra cash which I always spend on boardgames.

There are a lot of boardgame content creators that I can't stand. Just like there are 1s in every hobby. Cool, others like'em. I can curate my feed w/ blocks & muting. Crazy to see people so rude to any1 on their content. 1st of all, be kind. 2nd just shut up & move on. No1 needs your crap.

10 days until we move into the new house. When I moved previously, my boardgames were the first things in the house. This time, I don't think that will happen as 95% of my collection is being stored at my friend's house. So they'll likely be slowly moved over as they come for game nights.

Boardgame night is giving me an opportunity to visit a friend's house for the first time. He rarely has folks over and although I've been invited before, I've had to decline due to previous engagements. Pretty excited since I've boardgamed with him for like 6 years. Ha.

This is my biggest pet peeve I commit. I really need to shut my mouth when I'm having a bad game because often I still manage to win the boardgame.

Don't ask me to skip boardgame night. It's sacred to gather around the table with friends each week. It's often one of the only things keeping me sane. It kills me when people cancel.

19 days until my new house! It's a surprise for the kiddos because weird stuff happens in real estate and we don't want to have them amped and then dashed because something weird/shady happens.

I don't own a single copy of Monopoly (nor any variants). It would be hard to spend $ on a boardgame I don't really enjoy when there are 100s I'd rather buy. Luckily my friends and family know not to buy it for me. Do I miss playing it? Not really. Just nostalgia from holidays past as a child.

Moving into my dream house & great neighborhood at the end of the month. Already feel safe & know that there are great people around. The kind of place where the kids literally play kickball in the cul-de-sac in the summer. Dare I ask for more and hope there are some folks who play boardgames too?

Anyone else not juiced on campaign/legacy boardgames? I don't like adding mechs to games I already know & does every1 just have 2-3 friends that consistently come every wk to get these played? But then again I'm not an expansion kinda guy either unless it's "more of the same" w/out additional rules.

My plays for January. I usually don't play so many teams games but we keep having 8 players. Going to have to start splitting tables. P.s. Super excited I got both Libertalia and Clank in space back to the table.

My 9 y/o daughter likes to twist animals out of paper as art. No one taught her this. I think they're adorable and enjoy making art museum plaques for them as they lay about the house.

Boardgame Group today at work. It's digital (we all work from home) but it's still nice to have a group of us socialize while we play on BGA for an hour every month. Way better than a drinking happy hour.

When you officially become a boardgamer you also have to choose a secondary hobby of rock climbing or disc golf. Thems the rules.

My boardgame collection has been at my friend's house for the last 3+ months. So thankful that they were able to house my 100+ games and host game night, but man will it feel good to have my collection in my new place in March and start hosting game night again. I miss those little boxes.

Coaching my kid's basketball team has me thinking a lot about the competitive spirit. It's a bunch of 6 y/o running around but I am still amazed at the lack of drive to win. They're timid, they have this apprehension to not be aggressive. When I was that age, I was wild. I was there to win.

The new house will have the kid bedrooms downstairs, so boardgame nights will be at the kitchen table upstairs to keep it quieter. My spouse is < wild about the idea of my kallax of games being in the living room. How do you handle your games being away from your table or on a different floor?

New house at the end of February! Now for the important question of where will my boardgames go!? And where is the space/table to play at?

A friend asked me how much my boardgames are worth. I told them it's priceless. I enjoy my hobby w/ friends every wk. Then gave them my collection size & an avg of $40/game. Purchased over 10 yrs, w/ avg of 4 players & 700+ hrs of playtime. It's like $1.5/hr. Price of a candybar for a healthy hobby.

Had 3 at boardgame night yesterday. Finally got to bust out Clank! In! Space! Again. Been too long & I should get it to the table more. Super fun! I was the last to leave the ship & survived 2 full onslaughts from both players. Took the escape pod w/ about 40% left on my health. Won by 1 point.

Welp the boardgame design bug has got me again. This is probably the 5th game that I've started designing using a similar mechanism but this is the one that I've felt the best about so far. Even avoided the pitfall of getting overwhelmed w/ possibilities & split it into two methods to test 🎲 ✂️

My boardgame group's completed play board for 2025. Every game night we sign the date of game night, who attends, & games played. The result is a canvas that reminds us of all the fun we have around the table each year. I use it for art in my game room. Actual stats are tracked via #BGstats app.

My favorite running gag in Malcolm in the Middle is the patched together nonsense boardgame they have in the foreground of some shots where they need the kids to be gathered together. They literally have quartered boards from checkers, Sorry, Life, & Backgammon put together.

I played the God tile wrong in Ra for our first game. Accidentally was replacing the tile taken from the auction row with the God tile instead of discarding it. Did it break the game? No, but it made God tiles cycle through more. It was still fun and we corrected it for the next game.

Getting to be that time. When buying the dog's meds...we maybe only need the year... Really hope that we get settled with our living situation in the next few months before old age catches our dog. The "new" place wouldn't feel like home without her and I don't think the kids or I can handle it.

Played the classic partner's card game 500 over the holiday break. Hadn't played it since high school. My teammate and I were 25 years senior of the other folks but mopped the floor with them for a few games. We both prefer modern boardgames but always enjoyed the classics too.

Starting off the year right with boardgame night tonight. Just happens to be on a Thursday (my weekly group) but still feels good! Yay games!

I was absolutely on fire last night for (digital) boardgames. Winning 7 of 8 games played on BGA with my weekly game group. I had to use up all my remaining luck for the year.

Only ordered 2 new boardgames for myself for the holidays, putting myself at 7 new games for all of 2025. Bunny Kingdom, Scoville, Modern Art, Radlands, Can't Stop, Flip 7, and El Grande. What gems have you all been buying?
