I have been on social media less and less for over a year and the past couple days proved why I do that. Take care of yourselves

I have been working on making my door buzzer not look like a piece of cheap plastic. Turns out it's just a circuit board and speaker powered by the wire. Really simple project. Just found these buttons. So the project can move forward.

My vcf Midwest haul. A few cd caddies, 486 cpu, apple ii technical manual and brochure. Also two broken pcs that I have a few ideas for. Should have grabbed an apple binder but it wasn't from the period I was looking for

Woke up at 430 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Decided I should get a round of golf in before work. I wish I could do this more often. It's so nice and quiet in the morning. Plus I chipped in 28 yard birdie.

My Mister case prototype came in. Looks like I have a little adjustments to make. For starters the back io ports are misaligned. I must have goofed because all the other measurements are accurate. I didn't consider the back so the usb port will conflict with my buttons. But otherwise it looks good!

Rearranging my wall. That's why I love these rail shelves. I can reconfigure without drilling extra holes in the wall and each shelf can have its own theme. I forgot I have these Pepsi pixel caps which have been sitting in a box for years. Time to give them some love

The NES Max has been modified. Not pretty but I learned a lot. I want to make a circuit board to make it cleaner and prevent erroneous key presses. Maybe shorter buttons are necessary so that the cycloid can rock properly.

Upgraded my NES Advantage with clicky buttons and wow what a difference it makes. The B button solder joint broke but I'm sure I could make a long term solution. Maybe next I'll tackle the NES Max

Got some new glasses. A pair of eye glasses and sunglasses. Glad I went with bronze lenses because they are amazing for golf. Need to get used to the thicker frames but I'm liking how they frame my face.

Our company only offers promotions if someone vacates it first. So it can be years in between openings. And because I keep to myself, someone more sociable can get it b4 me. Finally got mine after 5 years. They were going to give it to the new girl, but I complained to the VP and got it.

Storm rolled in just as I was leaving the store. Walking into the cold front was surreal. Like god turned on the AC.

While I was on the deck a cicada flew on to me and snuck into the house. The cats were amused for a bit but since I didn't want it flying around the house, I let him out to annoy for another day.

My trackball box is complete. A little jank. Next time I'll use dovetail joints and leave some overhang to trim flush instead of trying to measure exactly.

Finally getting my Mister case planned out. I made a rotary knob to navigate menus from the case. I also got an Oled screen that displays a logo for the core that's selected. Looking forward to having a pretty system that I don't have to worry about breaking when I bring it out.

I had my wisdom teeth removed and played Alundra for two days straight. I had them taken out on Friday then my grandpa died on Saturday so I was running on pudding pops and depression. Really great game. Need to play it again.

Huzzah. Turns out our phone wire in the condo is cat5 which means I just have to change the connector and boom, home wired network. Only took five years to discover.

Jokes aside but Nintendo gets all the nostalgia because it is considered a kids console and chances are you had one as a kid. Nintendo hated that and tried to age up but couldn't shake it. If you had a ps2 you probably had older siblings.

heh the PS5 Dual Sense works with Windows 98. No special drivers necessary. Ironically Microsoft Xbox controllers don't work. Good to know that I can use modern controllers without much hassle.

Great day for golf. Glad I took a half day. Also realized I have 62 hours of pto so I might take a few more days off during the week to get a few more rounds in.

For some reason I can't get Windows 98 to use the retrotink4k as its main monitor with this laptop. It'll display as an extension but won't mirror or make primary. Maybe I need to look into some settings.

Filmed my latest video. It's been a struggle making content these past few years. I've seriously considered retiring the channel. But I still like to make videos. Feels good not to put so much pressure on myself. Also changed my room around so new background!

Learned a lot attempting to make my trackball box. Need to get the cuts straight but I'm going to stick with this layout for a bit to see if I want to change it up when I take the time to make the real deal.

My wife has been on a meditation retreat in Colorado for the past week. This has been the longest I've gone without speaking to her in the 15 years I've known her. Can't wait to see her on Sunday.

Saw Superman on Friday. I'm glad that they trusted the audience to know who superman is and tell a story in his 80+ year established universe instead of building a new cinematic universe from scratch.

Recapped my hifi. It runs beautifully now. Just need to get gold plated rca ports to replace the rusted ones and it should be good to go. Eventually I plan to use the speakers in a 5.1 setup and plug the phono into that.

When I first started golfing my grandpa would give me used golf balls. I would keep the cool ones. Over time I lost them but I always kept this Butterfly ball. Today I found a new sleeve of them. They're a bit newer than the one I have but it's cool to have the original sleeve.

After a year of trial and error, I finally figured out how to replicate Ben Hogan's swing from start to finish. It is amazing when you can get your body to move automatically. Now I can start to work towards justifying a trip to Pebble Beach next year.

My wife asked me why I had a pitcher of tea sitting out on the deck. Apparently she's never made sun tea before. Iced tea just slaps when you brew it with the power of the sun.

Opened up the record player. 1960s capacitors are so cool and gigantic. Not a fan of the rats nest of wires tho. Wonder if I should do a full recap or just replace the leaky ones for now.

I have been wanting a little hi-fi setup for my game room. Found this Zenith Y565 with the optional stand. I love the circle of sound speakers - They're so unique. Everything works but it needs a deep clean and possible re-cap. But for $25 it's an awesome addition to my space!
