Oh god. All the foster paperwork is done.

I had to take Jasper for his yearly rabies shots, and he's keeping me at a distance for a little while now.

I miss doing retail customer service. Mostly in fields I enjoy. I just like helping people. :)

As a parent, I hate the emphasis schools put on excellent grades. If my kids pass, I'm happy. My spouse got terrible grades and is a college professor now. Rote memorization isn't knowledge. I did well in school and it didn't amount to anything.

I've got this week to figure this whole "alternate caregiver" situation out, or everything we've worked for these last six months for is just boned. I'm panicking so hard. And it's such a stupid thing.

The stress is REAL.

Our foster paperwork is almost done, but one snag remains. We need someone we can trust to be willing to be an alternate caregiver. -_-. Someone who can be an emergency backup to watch the kids in case of extreme emergency. And we don't have that. It's our last hurdle to certification.

Spent some much needed family time tonight, and moved my Gundam cards into a sturdier storage box!

We managed to get our car back today! The downside; while it's fixed, it's still in rough shape and the mechanic says that we should probably be looking for a new car in the near future. But it's drivable. Yikes.

My total lack of personal connections means that if my spouse and I ever bite the big one, our kids are pretty much on their own. That's a scary thought. I'd better teach them how to hunt, gather and resort to cannibalism while I can.

Digging through my boxes of weird TCG nonsense tonight.

Our kiddo has a concert to get to up at on Saturday and not having a car is going to ruin it. We already paid for tickets and this was his birthday present. We've tapped out our funds paying for the car repair, so if we can pull enough in for a car rental then we can salvage it.

I think we should have repairs covered, which is good. But we're going to be without a car until next week, which sucks. Especially because we have various appointments and stuff.

The mechanic says it'll probably be Tuesday before we get the car back. So we've got until then to figure out how the hell we're going to pay for the repairs. -_-

Well, guess who's car just broke down AGAIN and can't afford to fix it? Now we need to figure out how the hell we're going to get the kids to school, and my spouse to work.

We just had a fire inspection in our house, now we have to get a safety inspection. All of this getting ready for inspections has eliminated my relaxation time and upped my stress levels and I'll be glad when they're all over.

If I had unlimited funds and a choice, I think I'd just go Chaos Marines for 40k. They were my first 40k army years ago, and I'd happily go back to them. Like comfort food.
