It’s that time of the week again. Time to freshen up the common living space in prep for the Celebration of Life event for Anita tomorrow evening.

Today makes one year since Anita was called back to her heavenly abode. A true angel in every sense of the word. It always seems to be that the purest of us are taken first. Anita…..U will be proud of where we are as a family now and we know you’re still with us in spirit.

Good Morning Everyone. What a night it’s been. On my list of NEVER TO DO AGAIN The consequences of eating an entire bag of popcorn last night…..resulting in the inability to retain solids and liquids and a drop of 3.5 lbs overnight….. Yikes

Flowers for this week The flowers in pic 1 are from Sept 27. I seem to do better with wildflowers than with roses. Their colors are also more vibrant than the standard Red, Pink, Orange and white roses.

And….. It’s back to fresh flowers…

Many of you associate beef with steak, chili, meatloaf or meatballs. In my home state of Kerala, beef is often prepared as a beef fry dish or in the form of a gravy (below) called beef stew. This is one of the dishes being prepped for a dinner I’m hosting Saturday.

Left Austin to Houston back to Austin - 6 hrs 55 mins. The fastest round trip road trip I’ve ever done between the two cities.

This would be the quickest round trip I’ve made to Houston and back.

Lemon Sugar icing was made and poured on the Bundt Cake.

Another one of these was made yesterday. Again it’s a case of surplus fruit for which there are not enough house occupants to consume.

Sunday afternoon, I am inviting a few (3) very close friends who will be taste testing a Kerala crepe called “Appams” below, that will be served with the Fish Mollee in the QT below.

The making of vegetable filling for puff pastries for a dinner I’m hosting in two weeks. Prep needs to be done prior to prevent me from having to do everything on the day of. Juice of half a lemon squeezed in and cooling overnight. The pastries will be assembled tomorrow.

I’m sitting in the lobby of this hotel and struck up a conversation with a few peeps who’re also here for the same concert. And we’re all from out of town. One from Chicago, two from the Dells area and me from Texas. I’m sure there are many many like me here, all from out of town.

Good Morning Everyone I will say that these wildflowers are really resilient. These were put in vases August 23rd and after paring down to two vases, I was able to re-save flowers enough for two vases.

Today’s dinner was “bites” as in different of papads and chips accompanied with 4 different kinds of chutneys, followed by an appetizer of boneless lamb chuka (dry prep) topped off with a main course of Appam and Mutton Ishstew

For a few years now…..breakfast has been my main source of food intake (notwithstanding protein shakes thru the day) for each day. Today I broke that tradition (and really more of the healthiness associated with one full meal) to have dinner at the place I’m staying at.
