WayForward Asks Fans If They Want To See Aliens: Infestation On Modern Hardware In 2011, WayForward released the Metroidvania title Aliens: Infestation on the Nintendo DS to great acclaim from fans and critics. The game used a permadeath mechanic, where if a marine falls in battle, another in the party would take their place until the entire party is wiped out, at which point the game is over. The fallen marines could be replaced with any of fifteen displaced marines that could be found in the game and if this all sounds familiar, it is because WayForward tried something a bit similar with its later title The Mummy demastered.
