When re-coloring and re-lighting Sam & Max's office for the remaster, we ultimately ended up centering on two sources: the colors from Steve Purcell's paintings of the office, especially this from Fox Kids magazine, and the way Sam & Max Hit the Road used crisp-edged spotlights with wild abandon:
