Illinois Tick-Trefoil (Desmodium illinoense) was considered extirpated in Canada, but an @inaturalist.bsky.social observation in 2018 revealed a remnant population that sparked a COSEWIC reassessment. Just one observation can make a world of difference for a species!

Last month volunteers joined us for a weekday planting at McQuesten Urban Farm in east Hamilton to bolster the pollinator habitat we steward around the farm. Thank you to Niwasa for providing funding & recognizing the importance of both pollinator habitat and pollinators to farm health and success!
