Gonna do a 5th gen console stream tomorrow. At the very least, it will consist of PS1, N64, Saturn, and maybe even a little 3DO. I'd do Jaguar too if I could find a way for me to capture its RF signal using what I have but I wouldn't count on that.

The demands for exceptionalism in all areas of development in solo dev indie work has really turbo charged my perfectionism and has been contributing greatly to my autistic burnout. I wanna be able to keep making videos and games, but I also need to take it way easier on myself for my own health.

Doing an "Ace Mode" run of Rogue Squadron III and am loving how insanely hard the last section of Battlefield Hoth is under those conditions.

Something I love about older games is looking at them and trying to discern what movies the devs watched while making the game. It's something I wish we got to see more of, and I'm kinda shocked when I talk to other indie devs and they tell me "I don't really care about movies".

The video finally rendered CORRECTLY. Uploading it to Patreon now. Might take a while (it's nearly 10 GB) but at least I don't have to wait another six hours waiting for a hopefully functional video file again.

100% Completed Pac-Man World 2 Repac for the second time today. Went a lot more smoothly this time. Word of advice: make sure the way you're playing it minimizes input lag as much as humanly possible. Learned that one the hard way. Still though, fantastic game. Highly recommended.

I edited around 20 minutes of the next video in the past day or so. Only about 10 minutes to go. I'm rendering what I did today and putting it up on patreon. Between the first 51 minutes and now this, we're getting closer. Hopefully I'll finish the next couple of short animated sequences tomorrow.

I spend a year working on a video in what time I've had between jobs and working on Jack Razor 2 only to find my YouTube channel stripped of monetization because I fell below their metrics. Sucks, but it's still more sustainable revenue than making games... yikes, that's horrifying in its own right.

I'm not going to lie the past couple of months have been really hard for me, and it just seems to be getting harder. I'm hoping to finish the video I'm working on soon and I'm hoping to make progress on Jack Razor 2, but looking for more work takes priority. It just sucks how hard that is now.

Playing through Lair again because I need footage for a video and man does the Firestorm mission hit hard. There being no official way to play Rogue Squadron 2 & 3 on modern hardware is criminal. Especially when they've remastered so many of the Star Wars games in that era, and when there's a finished Wii compilation/remix of them that's never been released. (1/?)

A few days later and several more hours into it, I still think Shadow Labyrinth is ass. Yes, the game stops being a straight line and becomes a proper metroidvania... 15 HOURS IN. The combat loves to employ hit-sponges but is also hilariously exploitable.

I legit forgot that Shadow Labyrinth came out lol. First impressions are not good to put it very lightly. If anything, this is probably the worst metroidvania I have ever played. Even putting aside the connection to Pac-Man, it manages to be highly irritating on its own terms. Incredible.

A friend brought over his Switch 2 and Mario Kart World. I went from not getting much from the couple of shots upon reveal, to looking forward to what it was bringing to the table after more was revealed, to baffled and bored upon actually playing the thing.

Just finished the script for my next video and it turned out to be a complete monster. I'll probably cut it down substantially in editing but yeah, now that I have a full thing to look at I can see why it took so damn long.

As someone very critical of her own work, it's crazy watching my game coming together and going "oh my god, this is turning out GOOD". I'm holding off on showing too much too early, but Jack Razor 2 is turning out to be a game that I can see myself playing for ages. It's hitting so many of my boxes.

Sooo with Andor Season 2, I feel I should mention something. For the past decade, I've decided to watch Star Wars media completely blind. Not to avoid spoilers, but to ensure I'm engaging with it on its own terms as opposed to reacting to an existing narrative. BOY did that backfire this time.

I really hate the heightened prevalence of in group vs out group dichotomies on social media. It's very reductionist, isolating and frankly, I think has played a huge role in why everything is so shit right now. It's definitely a thing offline too, but it is soooo much worse online.

The Sonic Unleashed Recompilation is neat but it kinda says something about my brain that I see a flawed 7th gen game with a lot of strengths given the treatment it deserves and I immediately start pining for a Lair (PS3) recompilation. Better framerate alone would do wonders for that game.

Been playing X-Out Resurfaced a LOT today. As someone who could never get far in the Amiga original, I was happy to beat this lol. I'm also happy that instead of making the game too easy, they focused more on making the customization more understandable. Also THE MUSIC. Quality Huelsbeck.
