Today is #DinosaurDay! Let’s hear it for Dryosaurus, a small plant eater that lived during the late Jurassic. It’s usually seen in art running from a theropod predator such as Allosaurus. Not large or ferocious, no thagomizer, fangs, frills, or horns, just part of the fauna in the food chain.

Book #70 of 2026, The Moaning Words by Alan Dean Foster. A Cthulhu Mythos novella, more similar to August Derleth’s interpretation than Lovecraft’s creations. A bit disappointed - it’s a paint by numbers Mythos story; drop in an Old One or two, a forbidden book, and protagonists out of their depth.

#frankensteinfriday Bernie Wrightson worked on & off as a labor of love for 7 years on a series of 63 pen & ink illustrations for the novel Frankenstein. He used the book as a guide for the Creature, not Universal or Hammer’s designs. Incredibly detailed work in a style reminiscent of woodcuts.
