The new "My Taste" feature on Voola 5 is by far my favorite feature. As someone who loves watching movies and shows and wants a better understanding of my habits, being able to see it so clean is awesome.

I built Voola on the belief that clips on social media are now the dominant way people discover movies & TV, and there's a need to easily identify them. In the last 8 weeks: > Disney+ launched Verts > Netflix launched Clips > Prime launched Clips Platforms are realizing this.

The fact that Netflix and Amazon Prime are adding Vertical Video Feeds to their apps validates video as the dominant way people discover new content. While they are meant to further lock in users to their service, Voola sees above all of them as a new layer via other sources.

Instants on IG is kind of a pointless feature. They are trying to recapture the 2012-2015 Snapchat-era magic on the most curated social media platform ever made. If culturally people wanted that, they’d use Stories that way.

Hard paywalls work when you are either providing a product for businesses/business owners, or for something that delivers immense value that no other app/platform could possibly deliver. Everything else should have some sort of free tier.

I genuinely think this beef and the release of GNX marked an end of an era in Hip-Hop. The Fall-Off was the epilogue. What a way for the genre in a mainstream light to go out too. We know it’s never gonna be as good again.

The general consumer has had enough experience with AI on their social media feeds, on their favorite apps, on their work platforms. They simply do not like what they’ve experienced and no amount of advertising will fix that, ESPECIALLY if that advertising is ALSO using AI lol.
