Scott Perry said he voted to keep the government open by voting for the Republican continuing resolution (CR). Voting for it guaranteed a shutdown. He voted for the BBB twice, which was the precursor to the shutdown. These votes are immoral. Ask those who need food and medicine. Ask any of us.

We’re one day closer to no food or medicine for many people. Scott Perry and Donald Trump are deliberately and conveniently blind to the pain they are causing. Because they are conveniently and deliberately blind to suffering, they are also morally blind. Open your eyes, Scott, wherever you are.

We’re another day closer to not having food for those who are hungry or affordable health care for those who need it. Why are Republicans, like Scott Perry, standing in the way of food and medicine? We need to help each other and re-open the government. Why won’t Scott Perry do that? I would.

“…the well has run dry…no benefits issued Nov.1.” Says Dept of Agriculture about SNAP. Two million Pennsylvanians rely on SNAP. Food banks can’t it up. Where is Scott Perry? Why isn’t he urging that Rs save food, health care, and re-open the government? Because he voted for this mess. Twice.

Went door knocking in the 10CD-PA yesterday. I met voters concerned about health insurance, a furloughed federal worker, and those just trying to make ends meet. Scott Perry walls himself off by not having in-person town halls. Real people are not walled off from his votes/actions. Where’s Scott?

Every day the shutdown continues means greater anxiety for our neighbors. Food assistance will end Nov. 1. Those getting health insurance under the ACA are getting notices about whopping premiums. Government contractors, including those in the 10th, have to lay off workers. Where are you, Scott?

Scott Perry needs to document his time during the shutdown. He calls us “his bosses,” but we can’t meet with him in person. We don’t know where he is. He should fill out a time card telling us what he’s doing to save health care and jobs, as well as re-open the government. Where are you, Scott?

Congratulations to Scott Perry for keeping intact his over 5-year streak of not meeting voters of the 10th CD in PA face-to-face at his town halls. Last night’s affair was via telephone. The House of Representatives was sent home by the Speaker. Voters need to hear and SEE their representative.

The PA Department of Insurance released its rates under the ACA. Unless Scott Perry and Republicans act, premiums will skyrocket. The department estimates that a 60 year-old couple in York County with $82,000 in income will see premiums go to over $35,000 per year. Who can afford that?

I just got in from the No Kings rally. I met a retired dean of a local college, a retired dentist, the pastor of a church, and many other people. Hardly a group of professional agitators or people who hate our country. I call them patriots! And Americans! And children of God. And my neighbors.

For those who claim that tomorrow’s rally is anti-American, I refer to the First Amendment. It states, “Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peacefully assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

For all those who say that anyone who attends tomorrow’s rally is anti- American, I refer them to Teddy Roosevelt, who said, “Patriotism means to stand by the country…it is unpatriotic not to tell the truth, whether about the president or anyone else.” He’s on Mount Rushmore for a reason.

Thankfully, a federal judge has done what the Scott Perry and the other morally blind Republicans refuse to do: save the jobs of federal workers unjustifiably and illegally fired by Donald Trump during the shutdown. They could ask the president to stop blaming workers for the shutdown.

I just finished my announcement. I publicly indicted Congressman Perry for breaking his covenant with the voters. He should protect our best interests, not Donald Trump’s. The voters will decide on primary Election Day how well I made my case. Until then, I’ll offer more evidence.
