Today I saw a 4-Gospel manuscript in Arabic. It is relatively late from the 18th century Antioch. What I found interesting, and I don't have an explanation for, is that the liturgical Gospel proclamation "this is a chapter of the Holy Gospel ...etc." is in Ottoman Turkish. why?
