How’s this for #ThrowbackThursday …I did this ad illustration ca 1995 using Adobe88 on a MacCentris, back when making gradients meant layering shapes of varying shades of black. The page weighed in at roughly 900KB, or at most 1.2MB. The whole comicbook was done this way. 😄

What I discovered about me during this period of burnout was…drawing something to help someone I know was easier than drawing for myself. In a fit of “I wanna cheer someone up” I did these analog sketches for my ESO guildies:

The Iron Giant movie was definitely one of a kind. I loved that character and the robots in Miyazaki’s Laputa: Castle in the Sky. I channeled those feelings and out came my “Robot and…” sketch series. Gotta do more of these!

In 1989, my younger brother and I didn’t have enough money between us to buy the poster of our favorite album from ‘87. So we used school supplies to make our own. I rescued it from my brother’s discard pile many years ago and had it professionally framed. Not bad for a couple o teenagers!
