Gym is not happening today. I went, I stretched, but the body is still too damaged from work this week to do anything more without taking on new injuries. I'll try again tomorrow. 😟

There's a lot of injuries in this process: knicks & scratches, the occasional cut, some bleeding. But my fingertips alone are in extreme pain just from unclipping several hundred cables, one at a time. And then there's the repeated lifting. This is really not a job for the delicate.

Data center stuff follows... Skip if bored. The new production systems I built in Atlanta last month went live last Friday. We had some minor issues with app configs & insufficient database support that cost us time, but it was a success. I reminded myself that I'm very, very good at what I do.

Done at the data center for today. This week, we decommission this entire cage.

My sausage egg McMuffin in fact has no egg in it. 🤔

I've been awake for about 36 hours, working constantly for the last 27. It was a huge project, but it's 100% successful and I'm delighted if somewhat exhausted. Bedtime now.

I've received £50 from a friend, but I'm going to have to use that to pay my mobile phone bill because I need my phone to make calls, so once that's payed I'll be back to 0 again. I really need to raise at least another £50 over the next couple of days to get more food and other essentials.

Yesterday, I unboxed & racked 27 servers, 40 lbs/18 kg each, effectively moving 1080 lbs/490 kg twice. This is why we lift weights at the gym! This is also why I'm a mess of aches & pains this morning. 🌞

This is the dumbest timeline.

I grew up on a dairy farm: can confirm. Manure everywhere is a feature of farms. One can identify the animals residing there from the smell while driving past. It is unavoidable, and despite our best efforts to keep all food products clear of it, bacteria are clever, tough, and extremely nasty.

Square dance tomorrow, so deviled eggs prepped tonight.

I thought playing the accordion had been correctly reclassified as a war crime, but here is one now, next to my table in this restaurant. 😑

We saw "Fantastic Four: First Steps" yesterday, and I generally liked it. I love the 1960s futurism look & feel: huge props to the sets & props team. And it was a good storyline with some minor plot problems, but good character development.

Just finished an excellent chest day at the gym. I can tell it was a powerful workout as I chipped a nail at some point.

Just got the goddaughter's car back from the garage. The muffler is now attached which we are assured is a Good Thing, and there's a reasonable probability the beast will not burst into flames when she returns to college later this month. 👍
