We made it to the Waxahatchee & MJ Lenderman show last night at the Paramount and it was an incredible experience. We’s seen them both live individually but this show they played together and it was a skeletal nearly all acoustic performance. They traded off songs and played some fantastic covers.

MJ Lenderman - MJ Lenderman (2019) I didn’t catch on to Lenderman until Boat Songs so I had to play some catch up with his discography. His early work is a bit varied (in a good way) but he was already establishing himself as a clever songwriter and a killer guitarist. #Vinyl

The Mooney Suzuki - People Get Ready (2000) The 00s Garage Rock revival was a thing & while most recall the big acts, the ones that got mainstream airplay. There were several that were just as good but for one reason or another never broke through. Happy RSD shined a light on this one. #Vinyl.

John Frusciante - To Record Only Water For Ten Days (2001) I remember seeing the video for “Going Inside” on 120 Minutes and being completely spellbound. Never been a huge Chili Peppers fan but Frusciante’s solo stuff has hit the right notes. This was number one with a bullet for RSD 2026. #Vinyl

Sonic Youth - Diamond Seas (2026) This was one of the highlights of RSD 2026. As a fan of Sonic Youth and the Grateful Dead getting a “grayfolded” version one of SY’s best tunes was a must. #Vinyl

Sunset Valley - Boyscout Superhero (1999) A friends tipped me of to a new PNW label, Cascadia Archives who are reissuing local Alt. Rock albums from the 90s on vinyl. This Portland band was originally signed to Barsuk but this album had never been released on vinyl until now. #Vinyl

Lilys - Better Can't Make Your Life Better (1996) The Lilys really changed up their sound as the 90s progressed going from an excellent Shoegaze band to a fantastic power pop outfit. This one is closer to The Kinks than MBV. #Vinyl
