Very pertinent point here - just like the wild west we have with eScooters and eMotorbikes due to legislation failing us - we'll end up with people buying unregulated inefficient noisy Temu junk out of desperation if governments don't step up.

Got to be getting close to the point where businesses not adapting to climate change are going to lose more money through inaction rather than making themselves more resilient hasn't it? Been a week of mainly empty fridges at Asda now! (& they were emptying some of the rest & freezers this evening)

"after a car collided with the bowling alley" That's more than a car (given a driver has been arrested i'm assuming it's not a driverless one) "colliding" with a bowling alley! It's ploughed through the alley crossing all the lanes & into the opposite wall!

We are in an era where all sorts of devices are using the same logic controller (usually an ESP32) to run bespoke software which controls/reacts to a load of GPIOs. It doesn't feel unreasonable to suggest there should be a standard logic board which can be flashed with the manufacturers* firmware...

By 1936, Nazi Germany had the 3rd largest whaling fleet in the world. Much of it operated by Unilever. The result would be the near-extinction of the Blue Whale, all in the quest for something worth more to the Nazis than gold: Margarine. Find out more on this week's Untitled History podcast!
