If there is a recession, it will not have been caused by complex fluctuations in the economy. It will have been caused by Trumpâs intentionally reckless chaos. Presidents rarely have this direct responsibility for economic cycles but this would be an exception.

When Biden withdrew from Afghanistan, regardless of the wisdom of the policy, the chaotic execution of it sunk his popularity and marked the point of no recovery for his presidency. Trumpâs chaotic and lawless withdrawal of the US from engagements like these in a rational world would do the same.
