I’m not too excited for Switch 2’s launch…and yet I am excited to have it finally. Mario Kart World will surely rock. Easy hit. But I’m missing the old GameCube days of being surprised by Super Monkey Ball, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2, Wave Race: Blue Storm and others. Pure surprise & delight.

Elden Ring Nightreign can be fun, but I had to put aside the feeling of being overwhelmed -- fed through the map-speedrun meat grinder of the matches. After 3 or so hours, I haven't felt much power gain from the "relics" you keep. Moreso it's been the knowledge and getting a cohesive team.

Elden Ring Nightreign looks to be blazing up the charts with nearly 300,000 players already live concurrently on Steam/PC alone. This on the heels of some 30-million-plus sold of Elden Ring. Meta/OpenCritic have the game rated at a 75%-80%.

Not surprising. Doom: The Dark Ages reviews has nabbed a lot of 80-90% ratings. I'm about a third through it; just feels good. A chunky, shield-y, modern FPS. Great pace. Addictive upgrade loop on guns, shield, melees makes you want to replay levels. Environmental puzzles here and there.

Doom: The Dark Ages is very good. Easy to see after just several hours of play. Early Access edition gatekeeping and upselling is, however, one of the worst parts of modern gaming.

Sephiroth hit me with an ultimate ability nobody could see coming: FATAL CRASH ERROR I lost like an HOUR (60 mins.) of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gameplay on this one. UGH. Games really need better save systems. 😢

Hmm. Don’t be fooled “gameplay" will look like these cinematic shots. GTA 6 is going to look incredible - love Rockstar’s detail and cinematic flair. But true gameplay is when you CONTROL a character or car in the open world. Real-time physics simulation, camera, etc. Not much to go on here yet.
