Nurses are not allowed to use your personally held beliefs against patients. All patients must be treated with dignity and respect, and their personal and medical information are confidential.

This wasn’t a radical or unreasonable wish list. It was what any group of patients would ask for in a healthcare system that’s meant to support them. The question isn’t whether young people spoke clearly. It’s whether the system was prepared to listen.

Where is the evidence that withholding care improves outcomes? Because all the evidence I have seen says young people who receive support do better. So why are we debating this?

🚨 CORRECTION NEEDED A claim is circulating that the Darlington tribunal found the Trust’s trans-inclusive policy “unlawful.” This is false. The tribunal said the policy “rightly encourages the reception and inclusion of trans employees.” The policy was upheld.

Re: Darlington Nurses. The key point is that this case is really about employer failures, not about a trans woman doing anything wrong. I shall write a detailed summary. Stay strong, my friends.
