A #2016 throwback. Ten years ago, the Erie Art Museum was gearing up for an ambitious year of exhibitions and programs. Ten years later, the work—and the winter weather—continues.

Art After Dark happens the first Thursday of every month through April. Doors open at 5 PM, music from 6–8 PM. Thanks to Inside Out for a soulful jazz set last week! Join us February 5 for Steely Mac, a tribute to Steely Dan.

Museum staff will be available to help photograph works, submit submissions online, and walk participants through the Spring Show submission process at a drop-in workshop on Thursday, January 22nd, from 4 - 7 pm. This is a free workshop for all and will be first-come, first-served.

Opening February 12th at the Erie Art Museum is "Sarah Jacobs: Reflections" Sarah Jacobs is a contemporary artist whose work spans maximalist and surrealist traditions, expressed through both canvas and large-scale mural projects.

This winter, we’re hosting live music in the galleries for "Sight & Sound." On Jan 11, a cantorial group from Temple Anshe Hesed will share songs of hope as we approach the close of "Marks of Resistance: Käthe Kollwitz Prints." Join us 2–4 PM, Pay What You Wish.

Today is our intern Bailey Clark’s last day! She spent part of it in the collection with James Pearson, our Collections Manager, examining several ceramic works by George Ohr. Bailey has been exploring techniques that create folded and pinched movement, what she calls “ripples”, in her own vessels.

The Erie Art Museum's 103rd Annual "Spring Show" submissions are open! Artwork may be submitted until midnight February 1st, 2026. This year’s juror is Jenny Kendler – interdisciplinary artist, activist, and naturalist based in Chicago.

This fall, the Erie Art Museum offered Beginner Urban Sketching, led by local artist and instructor Kim Kloecker. Held Tuesday evenings from September 9th - October 14th, the class welcomed students of all levels eager to develop their drawing skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The Museum will once again be hosting vendors for Small Business Saturday! Shop small with dozens of vendors at the Erie Art Museum (with Free Admission!) and the Boston Store from 10 am – 4 pm.

Museum staff enjoyed an inspiring evening at City Gallery to check out ARTISPHERE, Dafmark Creative Art Center’s 5th Annual Youth Art Show, on November 12th. The event showcased the talent of over ~60 young creatives and will remain on view until November 22nd.
