Arguably the greatest action movie of all time. Playing with audience expectations, managing to maintain a coherent plot in spite of time travel shennanigans, and enlisting a diverse set of adrenaline-fueled scenes is testament to that. Opening night must have been unreal.

Having watched the "Pusher" trilogy this weekend I can see why they are still discussed 20-30 years after release. It's an interesting portrayal and the shift in perspectives between each film adds enough nuance to keep things ticking along. With that said - they're all mid.

Credits rolled on FF3 pixel remaster. Big improvement over 2 and overall positive. The series def showed signs of shifting to a grindier focus, so I busted out the boosters and had a much more enjoyable time. Feeling jrpg burnout so going to take a break for a bit.

Final Fantasy 2 pixel remake completed. Some great ideas and a surprisingly dark story. So far I'd say it's the weakest on this journey. Unfortunately a lot of the ideas were poorly executed and it was very grindy. I turned on the max XP, gold etc. modifiers 2 hours in and never looked back.

Started Final Fantasy 1 on the Ayn Thor. Playing the pixel remaster version that came out a few years ago (via game pass cloud as I've a grandfathered account). It's been an enjoyable experience so far - I've gotten the earth crystal restored. Not sure where to go next.
