My son starts school on Friday and so to keep him in a routine he's doing his normal 3 days at nursery, today I discovered all other school starters have now left nursery, have double checked all paperwork just to be sure we haven't really messed up

It is so warm that I've actually put ice into my cider. It is a delicious Hazy Rays by Hogans that I have left from my 40th, a 20l bib will not fit in my fridge, and normally I'm quite happy at room temperature

Parenting at a festival is an interesting challenge, but it would feel very mean to come to Blackpool without our son - especially as he has enjoyed the Gruffalo soft play, Peter Rabbit experience, aquarium, an air show, the beach and playing with the daughter of our friends who lived here

Things my 4 year old was given yesterday at Rebellion festival - crayons and something to colour (by stage manager as we were sat watching Chris Murray), a badge, a split vinyl by one of the band as he was wearing the other band t-shirt, and actual cash

I've had the most wonderful weekend, very lucky to have an amazing group of friends and family come and celebrate my 40th

Neighbours have a sound system they use to DJ events, tonight they have been using it to play at least 3 AI produced songs to wish Simone happy 57th birthday. Such a celebration to share with the whole neighborhood

Last night was the Random Hand and Faintest Idea peace talks Derby gig, it was a lot of fun. Lovely to see so many people out

Lovely, slightly different for me gig last night with Ani DiFranco. I really enjoyed it but of course would have liked more earlier stuff. Slightly weird vibes with a not very well sold seated gig, which ended up with quite a few dancing to not really dancy songs

5x5 Friday is a bit of a mix with starting Rebellion prep, I think I've listened to about half the bands now

Not quite sure how many times today I listened to the 3 new Streetlight Manifesto songs. Really enjoyed them, looking forward to the full album and final versions

Unsurprisingly so many other dog walkers out at the moment (7:35), glad we're heading home now as already so warm. Not much water in the brook for the boys to cool their paws

Baking hot and downpours, must be Download weekend just down the road. We'll enjoy the rainbows as I wasn't able to sort going yesterday

The way things fell with external factors influencing dates meant I've been off for a fortnight, during one of my busiest times of the year, and while I'm without a manager again. Today's return to my desk has been brutal already

Wonderful week with an old friend and her son visiting, now for a triple gig weekend - Dinosaur that Pooped a Rock Show this afternoon, Random Hand/ all Me Malcolm / Social Club tonight then Nathy SG & Junk Whale tomorrow. Off on a hen-do in Spain early Monday morning for a rest!

Although Streetlight Manifesto are one of my favourite bands I couldn't justify the costs of Slam Dunk, looking at the set list it would have been about £20 a song. This doesn't include travel, food & drink - that could account for any other band I would have seen.

Today is one of those days I maybe shouldn't have been quite so scissor happy with my tops as I try and find something vaguely smart casual to wear for work as it has been 5 years since we actually worked in the office. Bands always need more women's fit tops, but also more wildlife

Off to our all staff residential tomorrow, so am reminded of the one 2 years ago where my hotel room was missing one vital component...

Bank holiday spent being so engrossed in gardening I started to feel light headed as failed to eat or drink. So cool.

Absolutely marvellous time at MPF over, so many great sets and lovely catching up with folk. So very tired as I'd just got over Covid (apparently getting it out the way pre festival is no better), then spending family time at Alton Towers after being away from our 4-year old for the long weekend

Felt rough, decided to see if we had any COVID tests - turns out I have it again, what a treat. This time like a bad cold, very wonky temperature and had pins and needles in my fingers

Did buy tickets, that album is pretty close to perfect, and my only chance to see Chewie this year

I don't really have it in me anymore to survive going to bed at 3, but I did take this photo when I got home last night. This pear tree is my favourite tree

Entertaining evening seeing Thomas Benjamin Wild Esquire at the Angel. Accidentally had a couple too many ciders on the day but all ended well
