To go with the #DanDare spaceship, we now also have a contemporary ~1954 "Supersonic" #spaceship on display. These are really, //really// rare, the company that made the kits seems to have gone bust almost immediately. The parts for this were scattered amongst a series of boxes of donated #Meccano

We've just renovated and upgraded our old #DanDare #Spaceship, with the help of some spare parts. Back on display! 👍

Day 12 #museum30 #learning. One of the most commonly mentioned learning outcomes is 'surprising scale' i.e. "I never knew that [name of artefact] was so big / small / crudely constructed etc". A classic example is how visitors respond to the Apollo 8 Command Module on display at the Science Museum.
