So the #NHLJets began tonight’s final preseason game in Calgary without Dylan Samberg, Adam Lowry and Jonathan Toews. And finished the contest — a 5-4 shootout win — without Dylan DeMelo and Cole Perfetti. That’s sub-optimal. Regular season starts next Thursday.

Connor Hellebuyck has yet to appear in Winnipeg’s four preseason games but is slated to play the final two this week. Arniel wouldn’t say if tomorrow might be in doubt now.

#NHLJets coach Scott Arniel on defenceman Dylan Samberg: “Getting checked out here. We’ll have more information in the next day or so.” Went on to call it a “freak accident.”

#NHLJets Mark Scheifele comes up swinging against Calgary defenceman Brayden Pachal following a whistle. Both men are sent to the showers early as they receive 4 minutes each with just over 3 minutes left i the game.

Nice screen by Jonathan Toews and Neal Pionk rips a wrist shot by Devin Cooley to give the #NHLJets a 4-1 lead just past the midway mark of the second period. Goal comes on the power play. Gustav Nyquist and Nikita Chibrikov with the assists.

Apparently the feed had cut out before this happened, so folks not in the arena didn't see it? Also likely means no video replay coming since the game isn't being televised. The urgency by Samberg to get off the ice and to the room is definitely concerning.

Oh no. Dylan Samberg takes a heavy hit into the boards from Ryan Lomberg, seems to grab his left/arm shoulder and immediately skates off the ice and almost runs down the #NHLJets tunnel. That is not good.

Jaret Anderson-Dolan with a terrific cross-ice feed to Parker Ford, who buries it to give the #NHLJets a 3-1 lead with just over two minutes left in the first period here at Canada Life Centre.

Big cheer here at Canada Life Centre as they do the celebrity lookalike game -- and the "lookalikes" for Joe Pantoliano and David Harbour are the two actors themselves, who are here in the city shooting a movie. Habour even chugged a beer as the #NHLJets crowd went crazy.

Brayden Yager with some ridiculous hands from in tight to feed Nikita Chibrikov, who rips home a shot from the slot to make it 2-0 #NHLJets. That was pretty.

1-0 #NHLJets. Walker Duehr. I initially thought Brayden Yager may have got it, but I think Duehr's shot/pass attempt went in off Calgary defenceman Brayden Pachal. Neal Pionk with the assist.

Colby Barlow scores again -- but also for the first time. (His earlier goal was later changed to Colin Miller, guess he didn't tip it). This time, he re-directs a Ville Heinola shot with 61 seconds left and the #NHLJets are down 3-2.

Quite the commotion happening in the crowd here at Canada Life Centre to the left of the #NHLJets net. Some kind of fight happening during the play, just looked down from the press box as police were hauling off a guy whose face was covered in blood.
