Building complex software like Electrobun and Colab, or even zig-bsdiff and GoldfishDB requires thousands of decisions. I'd bet at least 1-2 years before these agents are capable of the tech-lead part themselves. and 5+ years before "end user gets complex software generated on demand" is a thing.

Ok finally have my zig-bsdiff building in CI with libsais64, then re-built electrobun with it, and then ran a co(lab) build where it uses the electrobun CLI to auto-generate a diff. left (before): full build 1.5 hours, 4 pages of 10 second apart updates right (after): full build 9.5 minutes

In 2024 I ported the original quicksuffixsort from a c bsdiff implementation to zig. for a couple of 2MB test files it would take around 50 seconds in a vm on my m4 max. I just updated it to use libsais64 (a multi-threaded much faster algorithm) and it takes 100ms. WOW complete your todos people!

I had a high level architecture discussion planning co(lab)’s upcoming plugin infrastructure. ChatGPT 5.1 did the best with a good blend of specifics and high level insights. The new Gemini 3 Pro thinking was actually a close second. And Claude in third just gave a terse but correct response.

So anyway i have genes that make acid/salt erase sweetness. So berries, peaches, etc. all basically taste like lemons to me. I was just eating a date that texturally feels like pure sugar but tastes like a dry paper bag to me, apparently it has minerals and salts that fully mute my sweet perception.
