I quit my temp job today…. Because I got another job!!!! ✨🥳🎉👏 After 2 years of struggling, hundreds of applications, so many interviews, moving out of LA and pivoting my career to something more sustainable… I landed a stable job at last! 😭

I dunno, check on your friends who have had to pivot out of animation/games/their passion career to survive. Like ACTUALLY check on them. Ask them how they are really feeling. Really listen to them. We’re struggling. It hurts, and it’s really fucking lonely.

My sense of self has been entwined with being an artist since I was a child. I was “the artist” of the family, of the friend group, of the class. I went to school for art. I pursued art as a career. So now, after pivoting into another career, I feel like I’ve lost a huge part of my identity.

Have privilege? This is the time to use it. Trans, Disabled, BIPOC, Immigrant, Queer, poor folks, etc. are and HAVE been fighting for our and everyone else's rights for far longer than you might realize. We don't need your guilt or your apathy or your doom scrolling. We need your action.

I struggle a lot with hoping VERY hard with new opportunities and I’m always at risk of being disappointed… But it feels good to hope. It feels good to remind myself that I can do anything I set my mind to, and that I can strive for a better life... 😭

Giving myself the space to grieve my career a little bit today... It's gonna take me a lot of time to process all of the things that happened, and it's not going to be a linear healing process. But if there's one thing sticking out to me today, it's that my storyboards are GOOD.

I have too many ocs that I want to do things with so bad 😭 Utter torture
