Doctor passed away in my arms yesterday at home from what we suspect was a heart attack. He had a spleen removal due to a tumor the week prior and think it affected his heart. It's still fresh so the grief is intense and the stillness in the house is agony. We hope our souls find each other again.

I'll miss Doctor forever.

More joyful news: after weeks of trying to figure out why Doctor was vomiting and not eating, vet visits and medication, a follow up visit for his distressing weight loss uncovered he had a mass on his spleen. Immediately went into surgery and now he's recovering. I love my sweet boy.

To quote someone while I was joy scrolling: the sleeping giant has woken.

Maybe AI used for good? Running Doctor's recent labs tests to help decipher some of the results and follow up questions for the vet. (He's been vomiting the last week on and off and I'm a bit concerned.)

During Paul's morning walk, he ran into Lincoln, Doctor's brother. We hadn't seen them since 2020 and I had been trying to get a meetup with him and his family. If we hadn't been given Doctor to foster, we would had Lincoln who was the most timid of the two puppies from the Riverside shelter.

I'm not even close to being a fan of Weird Al Yankovic but his show on Friday night was memorable and made me laugh. Also now officially a Puddle Pity Party stan. (Will add that I owned the Polka Party cassette tape when I was 8 but that was it.)

I finally met sweet 15-year-old Katie who got along immediately with Doctor at our friend Richard's birthday party. There were a lot of tail wags and face sniffs. We we told she was really nervous but meeting Doctor helped her out. Might be a sign to get another pup.
