This is our fourth and final remodel of our home. We did the kitchen, the bathroom, and the master bedroom. Every step of the way, the beginning stage looks grotesque, however the finished product looks fantastic. I’m looking forward to my new outdoor kitchen.

Occasionally I scroll through my timeline and find accounts I follow who do not follow me. It's ok, I just quietly unfollow and go about my day. I follow those accounts, but if these accounts don't consider my opinions or posts valuable, then I quietly move along.

My wife and I went to a beer festival in Mexico. Upon entry we were patted down, but the young man that conducted the pat down had never received any training. They checked pockets and we were moved along. They did not check anything else, neck line, waist line, armpits nothing.

Mexican police brother-in-law got into a gun fight today with two cartel Sicario’s. No police were injured, but the event ended with one cartel death and one in police custody.

Mexican beef, Polish sausage, Italian pasta, and Korean Bulgogi marinade. Somehow, I’ve managed to piss off several different cultures simultaneously. However, Nubia was happy, so it was worthwhile. Of course, onions peppers, garlic, ginger, siracha yada yada.

Date night with my love tonight, we had a pizza that was half four cheese and half bacon and mushrooms. The other dish was a handmade lasagna. Both of them were absolutely fantastic. Date night was once again a success. 🥰 put place black.

My Mexican family can spend hours and days together and be rejuvenated by the experience. As an introvert, I’m exhausted after a couple of hours. Thankfully, my wife understands this, and when I bail to the bedroom to have some alone time, she understands. I am grateful.

At first, I didn’t realize that marrying a Mexican woman meant marrying an entire family. I have since learned. I am the only gringo in this mess and I have been learning on the job. I am also the only atheist in a Catholic family, so that has been a bit of a learning curve as well. 💕

“karla, I know this is difficult, but as your brother-in-law, I’m glad you are here and you are welcome here. 💙” Conversation I had with my sister-in-law today.

And what we have here are two beautiful inch and a half cut Angus ribeyes seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning. These will dry brine in the refrigerator uncovered today until cooking them for my love tonight. Sides include baked potatoes, baked onions, and brown sugar caramelized carrots.

Summer in Sonora, Mexico is hot. Which is bad. However the summer monsoons also bring with it a lot of rain, which is good. But with that rain comes lightning and thunder, which scares the shit out of my ferocious Chihuahua. Bad. Thankfully, Wilson and I have each other, scary sounds be damned. ⚡️

Summer in Mexico is the monsoon season and right now. It sounds like a war zone is going on outside. The thunder is just nonstop. It keeps cracking and it keeps rolling across the sky. I’m glad I’m inside. 🌧️🌂☔️

Holiday in central Mexico, I took the wife and niece to a small cafe called “Wine and Vinal”. Live music, single singer/guitarist. Very strong start, the wine is fantastic and so is the guitarist. 🎸

I took my wife and niece on holiday to Oaxaca, in the mountains of Central Mexico. The food is incredible, the coffee, fantastic, and the pastries are mind blowing.

My Army GF introduced me to some interesting people. As I approached my federal retirement I was offered a job with Interpol. I had one question, "Is it exciting?" The answer was a resounding, "no". I chose civilian global travel over a federal desk job.

I was serving on a military installation inside a native American reservation. Weird, I know. I was tasked with judging floats for a parade. As my battle buddy and I walked around, we met a truck full of young men who suggested I should give them the winning plaque. I declined. 1/2

Windy and stormy last night, so appropriately, the dogs slept in our bed for emotional comfort. But damn! Braulia is such a bed hog! Ass on one of us, legs pushing the other, one king sized bed but only enough room for her!

We had a fun morning in bed, fantasizing about taking sister-in-law and niece with us on a cruise through the sea of Cortez. It’s not cruise season right now, but the Lady retires in winter and the cruise is on.

My love just told me she wants to visit Machu Picchu, Peru. I have been there, and it is utterly majestic. I would be honored to be allowed to take her.

Wild ride, I once had to pass through a metal detector, but I approached the dudes and said, "I have my service weapon on me". I sidestepped, because it was truly true. Nobody was injured in the telling of this true story.

I am having a difficult time celebrating today.

Today is the wedding anniversary of my parents. Today would have been their 59th anniversary if my dad had lived, but he died last year. I mark each birthday and anniversary, but the truth is, I miss him so badly. Every day I want to call him and tell him about our day but he’s not there. 😢

My Mexican wife wants to go to Tucson to go shopping. I try to never deny her anything, but have you seen what’s going on in the US? There is no chance I am taking my Mexican family to the US. If they get taken by ICE, they can end up in an African detention camp. 🖕🏼🇺🇸
