Good to see at least some of the visiting media still on the floor at Illinois. I enjoyed the hell out of covering games at Illinois. The Orange Krush is right on top of you ... often reading your social media and giving you shit as you write it. You feel a part of the maelstrom. A lot of fun.

Watched Leeds' FA Cup match on delay. Good Cup tie. Honestly, Birmingham City was better, but didn't take its chances. Leeds weathered the storm and won the shootout. Be nice to have the first real FA Cup run in my lifetime as a Leeds fan.

Random observation while sitting in a restaurant. Haven’t heard “Angel Of Harlem” in a while. I know U2 were cosplaying Memphis R&B, but it’s still not a bad song.

RIP to Peoria Journal-Star SE Wes Huett. Professionally, we helped each other out as MVC SE colleagues. Personally, I knew Wes before he was SE in Peoria. We shared a love of film and we had a lot of common interests. He was a good dude and he will be missed.

A MASSIVE thanks to my neighbor. Son and I got through about a third of shoveling Ice Planet Hoth out of our driveway. He came by with a snowblower and took care of the rest, despite my insistence we could handle it. The world will occasionally remind you to keep faith in the goodness of people.

Not thrilled my favorite team got a tie (which they were very lucky to get given near-suicidal clock management), but it is and always has been objectively hilarious to watch NFL players (and a lot of fans) trying to process a tie. Like it's an affront to life itself.

You see it all of the time and you saw it again tonight ... coaches and players have completely lost the ability to manage the clock. Yesterday, Iowa managed the clock terribly in trying to kill the game. Tonight, the Packers were doing God knows what in the waning seconds of OT.
