“Superman Smashes the Klan” does what its title promises. It’s also a coming-of-age story in which Superman’s introspection about his heritage is inseparable from the emotional journey of the comic’s other central protagonist, Lan-Shin Lee. 1/12 #Superman

It always struck me as wrong that Power Pack was included in the “Mutant Massacre”. I’m sure it was to boost sales, but definitely the wrong tone for that book.

My first Superman comics was Action Comics #472, which my dad brought home for me when I was sick. It was part one of two, and it took something like 25 years before I tracked down a copy of the next issue and finally read the conclusion!
