My Life in Gaming, year 1997: Star Fox 64 Oh holy shit, this is one of my favorite games of all time. I played it daily, each day trying to do better than my last, trying to take less damage, get more kills, do things faster. The music is exemplary for the 64 era. Some of the best from the N64.

The Rootin Dootinest soldier in the Bone Army. Without this musician, our formation would not march in tempo, and we would take longer to get to our destination. And in lesser morale. The Dootinator is essential to unit cohesion.

Gonna pitch a buddy cop show called Hawke and Hunt, and both main characters' first names are Mike, and see how long I could get away with it until the network execs stop me.

My Life in Games, year 1995. Star Wars: Dark Forces. Hey look, it's an actual Doom Clone! Yes, it's that one. Pick up a blaster, shoot some space Nazis, and get some of the best Star Wars vibe checks from a video game of the era. This set the bar rather high for other games to follow.

My Life in Games, year 1994. Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. While I didn't get into this game as my opening touch of the series (that was Warcraft II, thanks to my mother), this game was a fair bit of fun playing it. An RTS featuring one of my favorite fantasy settings, with two opposing campaigns.

My Life In Games, year 1993. Doom. This one is fairly easy. Doom took the world by storm, grabbed gamers by the balls, and told us all to go to Hell. So they did. I was two years old at the time, so I...couldn't. For obvious reasons. But I did eventually beat it two years ago.

So, to start. 1991's entry into my gaming list of My Life In Games is... The Simpsons Arcade game. This year didn't have a lot of options I've played, and fewer still I liked. This one just hits different, you know? Four players, each a different yellow family member, rescuing Maggie. Is fun.
