Did you know? The National LGBTQ+ Bar Association is the largest LGBTQ+ bar and ally lawyer association in the country, but we are allied with 46 local affiliated state and local LGBTQ+ Bar association organizations in 31 U.S. states — plus D.C.! 1/2

Traditionally, “ally” refers to cisgender, straight people who support LGBTQ+ rights. But allyship is a verb, not a noun — it’s about what you DO, not who you are. The real work of allyship is a constant process of listening, learning, and growing throughout your lifetime. 1/4

June 28, 2025, is the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall riots — the demonstration that set off a new chapter of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and the reason we’ll always believe Pride is a protest.

June 26 marks the anniversary of multiple Supreme Court cases that have had massive ripple effects for the LGBTQ+ community, from Lawrence v. Texas (2003) to Obergefell v. Hodges (2015). (🧵)

Today marks nine years since the horrific mass shooting during Latin Night at Pulse, an inclusive LGBTQ+ nightclub in Orlando. We hold the 49 who died, the dozens injured, and their loved ones in our hearts today, and we send a special message of love and solidarity to our Florida affiliates. 🩷
