In this odd little story, a clock named Ticky lives with a professor. When the professor’s friends suggest giving Ticky an honorary degree, Ticky declines, so that he may stay humble and friendly with the other clocks in the house. It’s a very fine story, with very fine illustrations. #kidlit 📚👍🏼

Emmie is a little mouse with big ideas, who lives in an attic filled with discarded items that she uses for her inventions. She’s completely happy until one day… a cat. Invented contraptions ensue, but the cat won’t leave, so friendship is the solution . A fun storytime choice. #kidlit 📚👍🏼

The people in this story are so busy building, they forget to look around them. One man tries to tell everyone to look up, but they ignore him, until birds fill the sky & they remember nature. Sophisticated concept, but I think kids will get it; maybe the adults who share it will too. #kidlit 📚👍🏼

Right on the cover it tells you the book is meant for “dealing with feelings” and the message is “friendship over fear”. And it will be useful for that. A slight story of a penguin father protecting his chick, it’s a good classroom choice. #kidlit
