Yep..... fwiw, my progenitors wouldn't let me go to social functions & such. I had no real clue how to interact with ppl as a young adult and carried a TON of trauma I wasn't aware of. Making online friends helped give me an outlet and kept me alive.

Quite literally my online friendships were a lifeline during the summer months before I could drive and leave the house on my own. Just kept me sane. Not gonna say it was danger free, but the whole world is dangerous when you dont have adults that care. Lol. This just protects them.
