Last night I put my hair up in a braid crown like the hairstyle Marlene Dietrich wore in “Dishonored” (1931). Since there’s a black cat in the movie, I thought I’d try to do a quick photo recreation with Close-Up. It did not go well.

I recently went with some friends to the old Griffith Park zoo to see DOCTOR FAUSTUS presented by @indieshakes It was fantastic! Seeing plays in the park is one of the great joys of summer.

I've decided to get an early start on Halloween this year. I always make this a special event. I put on an old horror movie, light some pumpkin spice candles and start to unpack the boxes from my storage unit. It makes me feel like a kid on Christmas morning!

I can't share details yet, but if you enjoy my work and live in Los Angeles, save the dates of October 8th (in Los Feliz) and 9th (in Downtown) in the evenings. Some really cool things are going to be announced soon!

In loving memory of Paul Reubens aka Pee-Wee Herman who was born on August 27, 1952. His tv show “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse” was appointment viewing every Saturday morning. It is always very emotional for me seeing his grave at @hwdforever on my tour.

On August 23rd Hollywood Forever had the annual Valentino Memorial Service to honor the life, films and legacy of Rudolph Valentino. We also honored screenwriter June Mathis and her considerable role in his life. Thank you to everyone who worked to create such a beautiful and respectful event. 🌹🌹🌹🌹

This past Sunday was #blackcatappreciationday and the opening of the black cat art exhibition. I think Close-Up knew something was up. He meowed a lot and zoomed all over the apartment. Then he went to the Vincent Price shrine and sent things flying!

My friends created a monster by taking me to @knottsberryfarm I’ve become a bit obsessed with boysenberries and have made lots of things with them including brownies, pancakes, muffins, smoothies, homemade ice cream, mocktails and French toast.

Last night a lady saw me at the Egyptian and said “Close-Up’s Mom is here!” That is now the primary thing I’m known for and I’m totally fine with that. I love my boy so much.

SUNSET BLVD was released on August 10, 1950. This is one of the greatest films ever made about Hollywood. It is also how my cat got his name. This beautiful black feral cat followed me all over the cemetery during my tours. He loved to sleep on Cecil B. DeMille’s grave.
