🎮🚨 If you are having a new issue with your adapter not connecting to Dolphin, try closing Steam fully so it no longer shows up in your taskbar. Steam has been rolling out an update which adds support for GC adapters and thus prevents Dolphin from using them.

I’ve tried quite hard to find good vegan ramen in NYC and nothing has compared to my favorite spots in SF. Best SF spots imo are Nojo, Mensho, and Hinodeya. So far in NYC maybe Danbo is best but it’s not in the same tier.

Just finished migrating a majority of the Slippi ranked reporting logic from dgraph to firestore. I'm actually pretty excited about the prospect of migrating everything off of dgraph. I think it would improve speed, reliability, and cost. All big wins.

Slippi appears to be having some server issues at the moment. Looking into it. May cause issues queueing, reporting, and probably other things too.

Alright I think this is fixed. Might have been one of the dumbest things I've ever debugged tbh. I still don't really fully understand what happened and I kind of just worked around the issue.

There appears to be a small subset of users having issues with some Slippi services. Seems to include failing to report ranked results, logging in at all, etc. I'm looking into it.

The answer to this was NO Fox's laser cannot phantom hit, or at least, it doesn't do any damage when it does. The following clip is modified to increase the phantom threshold so basically everything phantoms. See my guesses on the reasons in the replies.

Melee trivia question: Does Fox's laser do any phantom hit damage?

Thanks @frankborden.bsky.social for letting me know this is actually every move. My assumption is that it's all hitboxes that aren't the grabber's. One interesting impact of this is for example Falco's dthrow lasers actually do half the damage they're configured to do since they're projectiles.

Maybe it's because I'm not a big doubles player but I'm somewhat surprised I did not know that projectiles hitting a grabbed fighter cause half damage?

This whole splitting the title at the Chess Blitz World Championship reminds me of the earlier days of Melee where people would split the 1st place prize money at locals. I did it once myself and vowed never to do it again. It sucks for everyone involved imo. Basically just collusion.

Just ran into a somewhat interesting phantasm interaction. Someone let me know if this was already known but either way I'm sure it'll be new to many. During the "zip" portion of phantasm, Falco moves 16.5 units per frame for 3 frames for 49.5 total units... usually.
