Reindeer herding as a livelihood and culture is passed down through generations. Children are involved in from a very young age. The continuity of reindeer herding is well-established, and in Finland, one in five reindeer owners is under 25 years old.

It takes years to train a reindeer for sledging. Above all, the trainer needs patience, love, and a lot of treats to train a trustful, happy sledging reindeer. Here is a young sleigh school student in action. He doesn't have a name yet. Any suggestions?
