My FIL and his mom have a little antique/junk shop and this amazing Halloween cat ended up out there. My husband brought it home for me and now I get to treasure and enjoy it. 🐈‍⬛🐾🎃 It screeches so loudly I can see how it ended up on the second hand market 😂.

COVID and Flu vaccines done! We believe in science in our house, and I’m glad my insurer and healthcare provider do too.

I’m working so hard at task avoidance from homework that I’m getting annoying adult tasks done. ✅ called the orthodontist ✅ paid bills ✅ car stuff I got to making doctor’s appointments for myself & that motivated me to return to homework. Just my iced coffee and I over here getting stuff done.

Over the past 3 weeks, we have attended a middle school back-to-school night, a high school BTSN, and a school board meeting. It's disheartening to see the fantastic work & dedication our teachers are pouring into their classrooms & students, & then hear about the budget deficits & cuts coming.

You know where I’m going tomorrow? To work. At my job. Do you know where I would rather go? Yosemite because it’s fall and it’s beautiful there right now (really, it’s always beautiful, but still). Ugh.

The youngest teenager and I filled the second planter with dirt tonight and finished planting everything. The plants I ordered online don’t look recovered yet but hopefully now that they’re planted and with some regular water they’ll be growing in no time. I can’t get over these black petunias!

The plants I ordered online arrived & need to rest for 24-48 before planting. Otherwise the black & white flowers we’ve planted so far are doing great!

My mom & I took the oldest teenager to see The Long Walk. We all read the book within the past few years & enjoyed the book and the movie. It had great casting, storytelling, & characters. Mark Hammill was phenomenal. Parts of the movie were pretty brutal to watch. It’s a must-see for SK fans.

Thunderbolts was a fun Saturday night watch. For a two-hour action movie, I thought they did a pretty good job of covering mental health, trauma recovery, and found family.

I finished painting both planters, and we found our first flowers for this part of the yard! We need dirt and the drip system (I have a black thumb and everything will die without it… also, everything might die anyway).

Now that the kids are older, we cleared out the swings and sandbox to make more room for the garden. We tried giving the sandbox away but had no takers. To keep some nostalgia, we repurposed it into two garden planters. I’m not usually a project person, but I’m really happy with how they turned out!
