At an historic event Huddersfield on 10 May, leading figures from across the left including Jeremy Corbyn came together to launch a new movement bringing together community campaigns, trade unionists and social movements to build a working-class alternative.

Shockingly, Labour’s current refusal to bring the steelworks into public ownership has created space for Farage and Reform UK to pose as the champions of nationalisation. Reform – a party led by multi-millionaires and bankers – cannot be relied on as 'allies' in the fight to save the steel industry.

Labour will never lay Reform to rest. To do that we will need a party of struggle, a party which is unambiguously on the side of working-class people and all the oppressed, and which can unite their struggles and defeat the billionaire class.
