Thought Bubble have become one of those acts I look forward to hearing from because they always seem to arrive with fresh ideas and a slightly different angle on their own sound. Back on A Made Up …

Today I have been working on mixes for three new Thought Bubble tracks, while also designing a set of pretty far out tarot cards.

A rare visit to Birmingham. Through the late 70s and into the early 90s this would have been my regular stomping ground.

I see all episodes of the Ed Pratt source to sea, River Thames expedition are now viewable for free on YouTube. It was filmed a couple of years ago now, but is highly entertaining and informative. Watch it on your telly though (freeview), rather than a tiny phone screen

Raw, live music by local band Crystal Ball, Prague based Ginger Wizard and Leeds’ Self Immolation. Proper in-yer-face stuff. Surprisingly, there was a clear progrock aptitude to the headliners, albeit with grunge attitude. Hats off to One Hand Clapping for making this marvellous kinda thing happen

This metre square painting is still very much a work in progress. Despite using heavy body acrylic paint, the white is needing multiple coats, but with very straight edges. It’s proving exhausting.

Taking advantage of a break in the rains, I scrambled up some steep paths and rocks, above Batch Valley, eventually winding up on Church Stretton golf course.

I’ll be bongo bothering for Darmus again on April 25th, at Foxlowe Arts Centre, Leek. This time we’re opening the evening with the stellar Helicon and the positively lovely Crystal Teardrop.

Well, this really works for me - and indeed brings back memories of CSE English, 1974. Beautifully shot, acted, edited and scored. A+

Because I’ve had a little flurry of orders for the ‘Ver Sessions’ compilation cassette, by Depth Charms, I’ve quickly doodled some oddities to slip in with orders. I hope the buyers don’t mind too much

The mad three albums in three months project I did with guitar mangler Mike Vest a couple of years ago, was compiled as a cassette by Cruel Nature. For some reason there’s been an upswing in interest, resulting in sales of my own few copies, from my
