Info dump: First sign of Spring! My forsythia is blooming. I'll be beginning to teach my 10 year old to quilt today as well because she "wants to help Mommy." DHS is still shutdown so even though my husband has to go to work every day, he isn't getting paid. Hoping to open the shop May 1st.

Sew Pretty Arts Shop update! I'm making a lot of progress. Everything is stuff I've had around the house.

I stepped away from painting for 1 minute to let the dogs out for a walk and this happened (and the guilty party, black paws gave her away). #cats

Vacuuming, painting, and seeing how much space I really have to work with. I need some legs for the table but it's big enough for cutting, sewing, and pressing. ❤️ Tomorrow I'll be cleaning the walls and windows and painting the shelf.

My soon to be shop! It needs a lot of work. I'm going to set up a sewing corner so I can work during business hours. I want to make curtains for the windows and repaint the walls. New flooring will have to wait until the government shutdown is over though.

Sigh... Well... The Spring craft markets are out because I can't afford the booth fees. 😭 I picked a heck of a time to work on building my business. I'm exhausted, depressed, and can't think what to do next.

Hope? The Senate voted to fund most of DHS... Maybe I should have complained on social media sooner. 🤣 It still has to go through the House and the White House but maybe soon we'll get a paycheck again.

We're about to miss our second paycheck due to the DHS shutdown. This is not right. Making people continue to work without knowing when they will get paid? The bills don't stop and now companies aren't being as helpful as during the last shutdown. This needs to end.

At least my house is cleaned up for my baby girl's birthday party tomorrow. Quilting again on Sunday and Monday and my trunk show is on Tuesday.

I really hope this overnight snowfall doesn't cancel my class tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful 10 year old! All she wanted for her birthday was a guinea pig, matzah ball soup, and Takis. Meet Oreo, her guinea pig. Soup is cooking and she has already eaten her Takis. We're still giving her a party after the February vacation.
