Ace day out in Wales. Spent a few hours watching vocal Goshawks grapple & display. Nearby 3 Adders were a joy. Then to Flint for the Twite flock. Never seen them feeding high in birch before. Must be a spring thing? Complemented with views across the Dee & hordes of waders. Bliss. #ukbirding

A day in the office with the window open, listening to c2,000 pinkfeet. There’s been an amazing increase in recent years here in Cheshire. I’ve never seen a flock on the ground here before, but could get used to it. Fabulous birds to have around.

Stopped to see if this sad road casualty was ringed, assuming it was dead. Happily not - seemed stunned with no sign of external injuries. Placed it in a nearby tree in the hope of recovery. Will call back later to check🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

It’s been way too long since I’ve seen one of these. Yellow-throated Warbler, Jamaica. Eye-wateringly beautiful.

Red-billed Streamertail, Jamaica. A common bird here. Hummers are always great characters - big on looks and attitude.

I think this may be the first time I’ve seen a Common Scoter on land before. This rather stunning bird was at Crosby Marine Lake today, along with the long-staying Black-throated Diver.

Finally made the trip up to see the wonderful Teesside Brown Booby today. A wonderful bird, but a stark reminder of the changing times.

My little girl turned 18 today. A day to celebrate, and to feel blessed.

Chestnut-backed Owlet the clear highlight so far on my non-birding family holiday. What an utterly fantastic country this is.

Glad I took a punt on sketchy news & headed to Essex. What a fabulous bird to see in the UK. Several lessons in this one 1) it’s sometimes worth a punt 2) if you’re going to suppress something don’t put your photos on Facebook and 3) there were zero reasons to suppress this bird.

Local peregrines have fledged 2 chicks and are putting on a show at the minute. Very noisy and inquisitive. A joy to watch.
