Tailwind Tip 🔥 Working with the default Tailwind CSS colors is great, but for some projects, you may have your own color palette. If you only want to see your own colors in the autocomplete, then just add this to your `@theme` config: `--color-*: initial;`

I had to translate a massive style guide into code today, and the new Gemini model did it on the first try! I just pasted a Figma screenshot in cursor and gave format examples for the utility classes. A 2h+ task turned into 30m 😄

Tailwind Tip 🔥 Use `size-4` (or a higher number) for perfectly square SVG icons, including heroicons! And always set the `viewBox` attribute for best results. Perfect for when you want to align multiple icons vertically.

Since using Cursor, I've automated a lot of small things in my life. The latest is a little API that connects my Oura ring to Beeminder, and if I don't get to sleep before midnight, then I have to pay 🤣 . Last week, I averaged an 11:30 pm bedtime; silly but effective!

Tip of the day 💡 While testing the eloquent driver for @statamic so I could deploy it to Laravel Cloud, I found an issue. Since Laravel Cloud only supports Postgres right now, using UUID for entry IDs instead of Bigint saves you a lot of headaches & errors with the migration.

I gave a tech talk today at my main job about Tailwind v4, and everybody loved the "everything is a CSS variable" feature. We still need to use the tailwind config for some internal tooling stuff, but with v4, we plan to finally move away from SCSS. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻

The CLI on Tailwind CSS v4 is incredibly fast 😯 I'm adding a new page to a legacy project with no budget for a full upgrade so I installed the CLI, directed it to a .css file and the experience is as smooth as with PostCSS or Vite. Proof the team thought of everything ✌️

Already migrated a few sites to Tailwind CSS v4 and started using it on a client project. It's so fast! I thought I would hate not having a config file but I'm actually loving it all being just CSS.

Purchasing Laravel Herd Pro last year has been a fantastic investment. It completely replaced Ray(), mailpit, and DBngin for me. Plus, it's compatible with WordPress, making it well worth the price, in my opinion. The Table Plus button on the DB service is also a nice touch.

The power of AI I wanted to add a feature to an Obsidian plugin. I opened the repo locally, and with Cursor composer, I added the feature in 15m. Same thing with a free WordPress plugin. I wanted to add a feature, so I opened it up with Cursor and added it in 10m.

Finally figured out how to backup PocketBase to Cloudflare R2, will definitely write a blog post about this

I'm helping a friend from church create a directory of local churches here in the DR and the @astro.build + keystatic combination is amazing. Keystatic has become my favorite CMS for simple stuff like this. For bigger projects @statamic.bsky.social can't be beaten.

Finally back home and getting up to speed with my side projects.

Still recovering from surgery and have been catching up on old programming courses. I have been enjoying one about Github Actions. I know more or less how to use them but I wanted to dig a little deeper. Definitely worth it!

Moved my site vivian.do to Astro and Tailwind CSS v4 today. Pro tip: For design inspiration, check out Framer templates, they have incredible designs. Much better than what you can find in ThemeForest. Webflow is an option too, but Framer has a better "vibe".
