My favorite thing is the jump scare people get when they ask me what I write and I respond with "horror". 😂😈

I'm glad a dichotomy exists within me between my rejection sensitivity and my impulsiveness. Despite the pain I experience from rejection, my impulsivity keeps me going. Keeps me reaching out to people even as I experience rejection time and again from people that think I'm "too much".

What's motivating me to up my game as a writer? The fact that there is a freaking Buffy reboot happening and I want to be involved! A lady can dream, right??

"Anything else I can help with while you're here?" Yesterday I went to urgent care because this flu triggered my asthma and I was struggling to breathe. The PA took care of that issue and asked me the "anything else" question. It stopped me in my tracks.

Does anyone else struggle with friendship imposter syndrome? When your friend says something so kind or does something so supportive that your immediate reaction is "I don't deserve this!"

My imposter syndrome peaked yesterday. The progress on this draft of my book has been slow due to self doubt. I've been wondering if this will even feel like a "real" book once I'm done with it. I sent my friend a text and she said I could call her to work through it.

I'm currently reading Six of Crows. One of the characters entered a pleasure house to recruit someone for a mission. "dressed in a creamy velvet suit, a white rose in his buttonhole." Dear Reader. Dear. Reader. That is not what I read. 😮😅

I'm still processing this. Last night at the gas station I was all alone and a man began hovering near me. He mumbled something that I didn't understand. I said no and hoped he would leave. He slowly walked around my car. I was on high alert at this time. There were no other cars around.

Someone gave me the best idea to start a Movie Club. I love making themed meals specifically to shows or movies. It will give me the chance to follow my passion and build community. For the past five years we've been converting our attic into a theatre room, so I've got the venue ready!

How did I heal enough to travel with others and have a great time? Loads of therapy and traveling by myself. I knew I wanted to see the world, but the thought of traveling with others and the logistics of travel terrified me. So I decided to tackle just one of them and go on a solo trip.

Making myself drink one more glass of water before bed. Being an adult is hard.

My favorite photos from the Vegas trip. It's amazing how once you began healing you start attracting the right people into your life A few years ago I wouldn't have been my best self on this trip. I would've been anxious and agitated. I was able to be myself on this trip & that self was accepted.

I'm childfree by choice. Do you know how often people with children tell me "I love my kids, but..." They aren't sure if they'd make the same choices. I never judge them for saying that. These are parents that are giving their kids their all.

My husband stayed out later than me. I found out this morning they "shut the place down". Really? You shut a place down in Vegas? Where?? The arcade. That checks out. 🤣

A woman in the book section of Target said some funny things to her kids. I laughed. We started a chat about our love of books & sprayed edges. She mentioned a local bookclub, I may check it out. I used to get made fun of for reading. Now I'm connecting w/ people over it. What a beautiful thing.

I've surrounded myself with such a delightfully nerdy community that I forget not everyone plays video games. I was asked about my weekend. I started talking about my new video game, Dragon Age. She gave me the 'that's weird' look. Brought back childhood memories. But now I'm proud to be a nerd!

My best friend just told me she thinks it's cool that I'm knowledgeable about TV shows with how many I've seen & she thinks that's why I'm funny. After a lifetime of feeling bad about "wasting my time" and people not really getting it, it sure feels good when someone sees you and loves your quirks.
