Flights booked. Finally visiting Copenhagen, in May. For someone as obsessed with baking and design as me I am shocked it’s taken me this long to arrange a trip!

Anyone got any idea where I can find pretzel salt in the UK, struggling to find anyone that sells it.

I’ve been home in Yorkshire for the past week so obviously had to visit one of my favourite bakeries, Nova Bakehouse, in Leeds. Throughly enjoyed the rhubarb and custard semla, beautiful as always!

Spending a week doing some serious recipe testing, thrilled with how this turned out! A beautiful cocoa swirled milk bread.

Thrilled to FINALLY have started our home renovation today. Builders started on site 8am sharp and I also had a design meeting with our brilliant kitchen designers. Can’t wait for these befores to become beautiful afters!

Just found out I was fined by TFL on CHRISTMAS EVE for accidentally turning right onto a road when I was only allowed to drive straight on! Especially annoying as I was following the satnav.

We moved into our rather run down renovation project exactly a year ago. Today, we finally signed the contract for our builder. He and his team are starting the renovation first thing next Monday morning. So excited! Also meeting with our brilliant kitchen designer Monday to nail down the design!

Our long awaited kitchen renovation starts in 10 days so today I have to sort out 15 years of accumulated baking equipment! Going to need a lot of coffee!

Like clockwork I’ve got flu, it’s like my body knows I’ve stopped working for Christmas and decides this is the best time to get sick! For some reason all I’m craving is a big bowl of spaghetti bolognese, but like a crappy retro British version. Nostalgia I guess.

I guess I’m buying myself a new marble pastry slab for Christmas!

A very productive day of recipe testing!

I need some recommendations. After lots of boring and delays I still don’t understand we are finally about to start out home renovations. As I still have to work we are relocating the kitchen to the spare bedroom. I need an oven I can use for work but which plugs into a regular electrical socket?

How do I lose my earphone case so often!? I need one I can track, like find my iPhone. I know the Apple EarPods have this functionality but they don’t fit my ears. Any recommendations that have tracking for the earphones themselves and the charging case?

Watching the final of Bake Off and, from the kitchen, my boyfriend heard they had to make a hanging cake, he’s ranting about how ridiculous the idea is. He would like to know ‘who the hell would ever make a hanging cake. It’s just a dumb challenge’ 😂

We’re sorting out some things before our renovation starts, including selling some furniture. Amazed at how much value is lost even on well made furniture.

What with the particularly squally weather this evening, decided to bunker in at home and make some cocktails. Made a Corpse Reviver No.2 but with a few alterations. No Lillet so used dry vermouth and a touch of simple syrup plus only had lime juice on hand. Still a beautiful cocktail.
